APMP Module 4 Organisation and Governance

A project and its roles and responsibilities must be set out in a structured manner. This structure includes both the project lifecycle and the organisational hierarchy. This module covers the topics from the APM Body of Knowledge (BoK) section 6, including: The importance of a project lifecycle and the description of a generic lifecycle including concept, definition, implementation, handover and closeout The process of putting the deliverables into operational use during handover and closeout.

The importance of project reviews throughout the project lifecycle. The influence of the project and organisation structure on project success, including managing projects in a matrix organisation. The definition of project roles including the project sponsor, users and steering group. The use of methods and procedures such as PRINCE2™ and other in-house methods to standardise project management. Principles and application of project governance within the overall approach to projects.

APM Qualifications

(APMP)

APM Accredited ProviderThe Association for Project Management (APM) has a wide range of project management qualifications for project managers from an introductory to professional level. These include the APM introductory Certificate (APM IC), Foundation level APM Professional (APMP), Practitioner Qualification (APM PQ).

OGC Qualifications (PRINCE2)

PRINCE2™ and Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) are the main project management qualifications from the office of government commerce and APM Group.

(PMP)

The PMI which is based in the USA is largest global project management professional body with 120,000 members across the world. The PMI PMP qualification is the most recognised global project management qualification.
