Description

Delivering procurement projects presents a unique set of challenges. Procurement professionals are often required to balance organisational objectives, stakeholder expectations, market conditions and supplier capabilities whilst working within tight timescales and governance requirements.

Procurement activities frequently involve multiple stakeholders across finance, operations, legal, IT and supplier organisations. Requirements can evolve throughout the procurement process, creating additional complexity when managing scope, risks and implementation activities.

This practical course provides project management tools and techniques that can be applied immediately, helping participants deliver procurement projects with greater consistency, confidence and success.

This course is suitable for anyone working inprocurement projects or doing the procurement activity as part of a project team. It provides an introductory understanding of project management and a structured approach for procurement professionals who may not have formal project management training or qualifications.

The course covers the key areas needed to deliver procurement projects more effectively, including:

  • Project management basics, including the difference between projects, programmes and portfolios.
  • Defining clear objectives, requirements and business benefits to support successful procurement outcomes.
  • Setting up the project properly, with clear roles, responsibilities, governance and accountability.
