National Trust

The National Trust has complex and unique projects and wanted to improve their project management capabilities. Their existing project management framework was incorporated into the training programme devised by Parallel whilst also introducing external project management best-practises to develop a more professional approach to projects within the National Trust. As a cost-effective measure we used a tiered approach so that internal staff were trained to deliver some parts of the training programme.
The real-life project experiences of the Parallel trainers enabled them to understand the unique challenges and constraints faced by the National Trust and, therefore, provide meaningful training sessions and practical methods for the attendees to take away and apply to their own projects.


Defence Science & Technology Laboratory (Dstl)

Science and technology-based research and development projects, like those carried out by Dstl, often have uncertain outcomes with intangible or obscure benefits. This meant that standard project management courses were largely irrelevant. Parallel, therefore, replaced and adapted courses previously in use at Dstl and introduced a variety of new bespoke modules based on real projects with real problems so that they were relevant to Dstl's project management professionals. Parallel's commitment to understanding project management from Dstl's perspective meant the trainers could fully engage participants on courses and not simply teach theoretical material.



As one of the world’s leading Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems providers IFS has a global client base with complex projects, involving implementations in several countries. The bespoke training programme developed for them by Parallel, therefore, focused specifically on the behaviours and competences needed to deliver complex international projects.
The objectives of the course were to develop behavioural and leadership qualities in their project managers so they could deal with complex and difficult issues in a professional way. Detailed role-play was used to simulate typical meetings with clients.
By using virtual training sessions, delegates could attend the same course from across 20 countries and 5 continents, providing a unique opportunity for sharing experiences of delivering IFS projects in different cultures.

Public Courses

As well as on-site corporate training and tailored training programmes, we run a variety of public training courses at our own facilities suitable for individuals or small groups from the same organisation. These courses are based on the PMI BoK, APM BoK or PRINCE2 and range from introductory courses to the highly prestigious APM Registered Project Professional (RPP). All Parallel courses are conducted by our highly experienced trainers who are all project management practitioners. Interactive exercises, role-play and discussion groups based on realistic case-studies provide opportunities to practice and develop new leadership skills, attitudes and behaviours and lead to internationally recognised qualifications or accreditation.

Distance Learning
