Parallel Project Training is a specialist provider of project management training. We deliver accredited and bespoke learning programmes that help individuals and organisations develop the knowledge and skills needed to manage projects successfully.

We are looking for an experienced Managing Training Consultant to join our Training Delivery team. This is a senior, client-facing role for someone who combines outstanding training and consultancy skills with commercial awareness, relationship management, and the ability to lead others. The role is home-based, with frequent travel to client sites and company locations.

As a Managing Training Consultant, you will take responsibility for complex and high-value client engagements from initial scoping and proposal development through to programme design, delivery, and evaluation. You will also oversee work delivered by other Training Consultants and Associates, ensuring a consistently high-quality experience for clients and learners.

Working closely with our Business Development team, you will help shape and secure new opportunities while developing long-term relationships with nominated clients. You will act as a trusted advisor, identifying ways to deepen relationships, broaden our services, and increase the value we deliver.

What we offer

  • A base salary of £70,000-80,000 per year
  • 3% employer pension contribution
  • 20 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
  • Salary sacrifice car scheme and cycle-to-work scheme
  • A non-contractual half-yearly bonus scheme (up to £15k, linked to company performance)

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver high-impact project management training and learning interventions for complex and high-value clients, both virtually and face-to-face.
  • Scope, design, propose, and manage bespoke training programmes that address clients’ business challenges and learning objectives.
  • Plan and oversee delivery for nominated accounts, including work undertaken by Training Consultants and Associates.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, consistency, learner experience, and quality across all delivery activities.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and use client and learner feedback to improve programmes and delivery.
  • Lead account management and development activity for nominated clients, building trusted and sustainable relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the depth and breadth of existing client engagements.
  • Work with the Business Development team to identify, shape, and secure opportunities with new and existing clients.
  • Provide specialist input to discovery meetings, proposals, presentations, bids, and consultancy assignments.
  • Ensure proposed solutions are credible, deliverable, commercially informed, and closely aligned with client needs.
  • Develop bespoke learning materials, curricula, and supporting resources to appropriate professional, accreditation, and accessibility standards.
  • Explore and adopt relevant learning methods, technologies, and content to support innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Lead, coach, and provide constructive feedback to Training Consultants and Associates assigned to client engagements.
  • Maintain current knowledge of project management, adult learning, relevant industries, and the wider professional landscape.
  • Represent Parallel as a trusted specialist through professional engagement, networking, thought leadership, and knowledge sharing.

About you

You will be an experienced project professional or consultant with experience of working with complex clients and senior stakeholders. You will be equally comfortable facilitating a learning session, exploring a client’s strategic requirements, developing a tailored solution, contributing to a proposal, and supporting other trainers to deliver successfully.

You will bring:

  • Significant career history of working as a project professional on complex projects within the infrastructure, construction, defence, engineering, and/or energy sectors.
  • Substantial experience of delivering project management and adult-learning interventions.
  • Experience of designing and delivering bespoke learning solutions for complex clients.
  • A strong understanding of project management practice, professional standards, and effective learning design and evaluation.
  • Experience of managing client relationships, retaining accounts, and identifying or developing commercial opportunities.
  • The ability to translate business challenges and learning needs into credible programmes, curricula, proposals, and delivery plans.
  • Experience of leading, coaching, or quality-assuring trainers, facilitators, consultants, or associates.
  • Commercial awareness and experience of working collaboratively with a business development or sales team.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • The confidence and credibility to influence senior client stakeholders while making complex topics accessible.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several client, delivery, and development priorities concurrently.
  • A collaborative and inclusive leadership style, with the ability to provide clear direction and constructive feedback.
  • A willingness to travel to client sites and company locations when required.

Qualifications and professional standing

You should hold a recognised project management qualification or demonstrate equivalent professional standing. Relevant qualifications may include ChPP, APM PMQ, PMI PMP, or MSP.

A recognised teaching, training, coaching, or learning and development qualification would be an advantage. Active engagement with an appropriate professional body and evidence of continuing professional development are expected. Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience is desirable.
