Clarification Of Sample Question

Can you clarify something for me about this question which is taken from the study guide, section 2, organisations and structures:

Explain 3 examples of a matrix organisation structure when used in a project environment.

Can you tell me what is meant by ‘explain 3 examples’? Does this mean they are asking for 3 examples of (either real or hypothetical) organisations that operate a matrix organisation structure? Or are they asking for 3 examples of the characteristics of a matrix organisation structure?

The 2 day lead in to the exam was fantastic and extremely helpful and was a massive benefit and really well organised and run problems doing the exam and could not log into exam do not work from a SIM card if you doing the exam
